Bombay high court- breach of promise to marry is not rape

MUMBAI: In one of the most significant verdicts delivered in 2014, the Bombay high court has ruled that every breach of promise to marry is not rape and premarital sex between couples is no longer shocking in India's big cities. This comes as a ray of hope as our judicial system seems to be acknowledging and adapting with the changing dynamics of relationships in our society.
The observations came earlier this year during the hearing of an anticipatory bail application filed by a Nashik resident, Rahul Patil, who was booked on charges of cheating and rape following a complaint filed by his former girlfriend Seema Deshmukh.
>PRE-MARITAL SEX NOT SHOCKING ANYMORE
"Nowadays keeping (a) sexual relationship while having an affair or before marriage is not shocking as it was earlier. A couple may decide to experience sex. Today especially in metros like Mumbai and Pune, society is becoming more and more permissive," said Justice Mridula Bhatkar, adding, "Though unlike western countries, we have social taboo... the court cannot be oblivious to a fact of changing behavioural norms and patterns between man and woman relationship in society."
>THE LADIES' EQUAL RIGHTS
"Today the law acknowledges live-in relationship(s). The law also acknowledges a woman's right to have sex, a woman's right to be a mother or a woman's right to say no to motherhood. Thus, having sexual relationship with a man whether is her conscious decision or not is to be tested independently depending on the facts and circumstances... and no straightjacket formula or any kind of labelling can be adopted," the judge said.
>OF COMPATIBILITY AND FEELINGS
"A couple in love may be having sexual relationship and realize they are not compatible, and sometimes love between the parties is lost and their relationship dries gradually, then earlier physical contacts cannot be said as rape. A marriage cannot be imposed," said the judge.
(Names of the couple have been changed to protect identity)

Are Women Really Safe at Home?

Are women even safe in their home? What happens when savior becomes monster?
The shocking figures submitted by the police to the Delhi High court have revealed that of the 1,704 of registered rape cases in the capital in the 1st 10 months of this year, 215 were instances of incestuous rape. More disturbingly, in 43 of these cases it was the father who committed the crime and in 27 cases it was the brother”.
The news that is flashed above brings a different face of the society.
It's true that girls are unsafe on streets in our country and this as well, that there are no solid measures to protect them. But what would one do when this heinous and inhuman crime is committed by the so called “First Superman” of her life - her Father or by her
“First best friend” - her Brother? The thought itself runs the
shivers down the spine. It is impossible to even think of this
situation occurring in a girl's life, where her Superheroes not only
rape her but also kill the faith, trust and love that exist in one of
the most beautiful and sacred relationships on the earth. In a
country, where it is believed that daughters are close to their
father and is even quoted, that “Daughters are father's pride and
mother's grace”, how would a girl feel when her Savior becomes the
biggest monster of her life? How inhuman and insensitive those
fathers would have been who committed this sin with their own blood?
Every girl child is taught since her childhood to maintain a distance from males and to ensure her own safety. But who will ensure their safety from these monsters at homes? The numbers
that are discussed here are only reported incidences in Delhi.
What about such reported/unreported cases in the entire nation? The
figure might be shocking. The same report says that most of the
accused were either illiterate or school dropouts. Does this mean
that, the lack of education or illiteracy is the reason behind such
awful acts? Well, here is a logical opinion towards this. First of
all, there is a huge difference in being educated and being a
literate. Illiteracy can not lead to this crime but yes being uneducated can and it cannot be taught in schools or colleges. India is one country which experiences two completely different behaviour
towards girls. One, in which they are worshiped as goddess and the other, in which they are physically, mentally and sexually abused. Both of these behaviour are prevalent in all the sections of the society, educated or illiterate and rich or poor. Therefore, it is irrelevant to put the blame on lack of education.
It is unfortunate that sexual violence against women is deep rooted in our society in a way that it is perceived as part and parcel of being
a woman but there has to be an end to it. The girls are taught since
childhood to stay away from strangers. Although in a few cases
families have come a step forward and have started teaching their
daughters to be more aware of their surroundings even if they include close relatives, but the time has come when mothers have to play an anchoring role in empowering their daughters. They need to be taught that the molester or a rapist could be anybody, a stranger, a known friend/relative or even her father or brother in cases like these.
Every child, irrespective of the gender should raise their voice against any kind of molestation or abuse at the very beginning, irrespective of how close the abuser is to the family. They need to overcome the fear of rejection. Parents need to believe their child, support them and re-establish their safety. And most importantly, make sure to let your children know that they were right to discuss it and you are glad they came to you.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SALMAN KHAN

Doesn’t really give long moral gyaans,
Isn’t a self-styled samaj-sudharak
Doesn’t own IPL teams
Doesn’t claim to be the best actor ever
Doesn’t wear religion on his sleeve
Doesn’t play victim card
Doesn’t give two hoots about the haters
Creates stars out of nobodies
And adopts orphans
Love him, hate him , call him a non-actor, thug, goon, paagal…the fact is Salman Khan is, was and will always be one of the most brightest stars of Bollywood.
And this comes from somebody who is not his fan
Bhai ko Happy waala Budday, agli film ki waise hi utaarenge jaise pichli filmo ki utari hai

boy hurled a stone at Kejriwal

A boy hurled a stone at Kejriwal ji in a rally. Kejriwal ji did a Jesus Christ and forgave him. Kejriwal accused BJP of throwing stone at him and told the BJPWallahs that these stones, joote-chappal, ande-tamatar are not going to deter his spirit.
My reactions:
1. I am looking for the store which sells BJP brand stones, the ones that you can instantly recognize
2. With the kind of achook Nishanebaazi BJP is doing these days, I am 200% sure that a BJP nishanebaaz would have cracked Yugpurush jee’s takla thereby spilling his krantikaari cerebrum out. The Nishanebaaz must have been a Congressi or a fallen AAPi.

INDIA vs PAKISTAN

After reading my earlier note about the Pakistani woman, many
people have asked, 'do you really think India is a completely safe place'?
No. I don't. No place in the world is completely safe. But, the India that we live in today is a vibrant, pulsating land brimming with optimism. Yes, we have a bright future and we know it.
Whereas, every sensible Pakistani I have met in Dubai, believes that their country's future is bleak. Very bleak.
I have spoken to Pakistani taxi drivers, plumbers, carpenters, boutique owners, mothers, professionals..and all of them think their country is set to implode. Many of them would like to move back, but all of them know that they cannot. EVER!
Whereas, for Indians settled abroad, returning back home is an achievable dream.
India and Pakistan started on their journey at the same time. Look where we are, and where they are!
A few years ago, some American newspapers carried two headlines side by side, on the same page, on the same day. One of them said, an Indian American was appointed the dean of the Harvard Business School. The other headline said, a Pakistani American man was arrested for the attempted Times Square car bombing!
That for me is the MOST telling commentary on the respective journeys of India and Pakistan over the last 67 years!

IS PAKISTANI GOVT SERIOUS ABOUT TERRORISM ?

A court in Pakistan has granted bail to Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Zakiur Rahman Lakhvi, key accused of the ghastly Mumbai terror attacks facing trial in Pakistan. Lakhvi has been charged with planning, financing and executing the attacks in Mumbai that killed 166 people in November 2008.
The news has come as shocker for India which the other day strongly condemned the massacre of children at an Army school in Peshawar. People on this side of the border joined Pakistanis in mourning the dead with schoolchildren across the country observing a two-minute silence in solidarity with their neighbour.
India has said it "cannot accept" that top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, accused of plotting the 26/11 terror attack on Mumbai in 2008, is being released on bail.
"It will serve as a reassurance to terrorists who indulge in heinous crimes. Let us not forget that the financing of the attack was done in Pakistan," said Syed Akbaruddin, spokesman in the ministry of external affairs.
A Pakistani government prosecutor said on Friday he will challenge a court order granting bail to the alleged mastermind of the 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai.
26/11 Mumbai attack plotter Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi was detained on Friday a day after a Pakistan court granted him bail, said a report. He has been detained under Maintenance of Public Order (MPO).

terrorists with no religion

A few months ago, more than a hundred schoolgirls were abducted and forcibly converted to Islam by the ‪#‎BokoHaram‬. The world outraged for a few days, there were ‪#‎bringbackourgirls‬ tweets trending and everyone and their grandmother were shedding real or faux tears for the poor girls.
Many of those girls are probably raising little Mujahideens of their own right now. The world has ceased to care. Media has moved on to the next tragedy.
The IS did terrible, unspeakable things to the Yezdi women and children in Iraq. There were brutal beheadings, mass executions, terrible tales of torture. The world outraged for a few days. Again, all was forgotten, as the media looked around for a fresh batch of victims to shed crocodile tears over.
Today, the world is busy outraging over the ‪#‎PeshawarAttacks‬. A few days from now, these children too would be forgotten. Their unmarked graves would languish in anonymity. Only their parents will live the rest of their lives with a wound in their hearts that will never stop bleeding. Media will move on in search of the next big tragedy.
There will be another terror attack somewhere. Soon. Too soon.
Another 'human interest' story will hold the world's attention captive. The perpetrators would be the same, their hatred, their ideology, their intolerance, even their outfits would be the same. The victims will be different. One more thing will remain constant though, the declaration that 'Terrorists Have No Religion'!
And then the world will sleep. Again. Till the 'terrorists with no religion' strike. Again. And again. And again!

gyaan ganga for new age relationships

Okay, so gyaan ganga for new age relationships (read: apni bhadaas aap par nikaal raha hoon):
1. If you have to say 'Aur sunao' within ten minutes of a conversation, phone call or FB/WhatsApp chat, don't talk to me.
2. Premiyon/premikaon: 'kya khaya?', 'brush kiya?', 'maine aaj tiffin mein rajma rakha hai', 'jaldi so jana' are all upping your bad relationship karma. This is NOT what 'Beta tu jaldi se bada ho ja fir hum DHHER sari baat karenge' meant.
3. Please hang up if you have nothing to say except making me listen to how you're chopping onions/filling up an Excel/making PPTs/writing code.
4. Talking politics is cool. Admitting to not caring about politics is also okay, though not as cool. Being opinionated without knowing what you're talking about is as sexy as a wilting cabbage. With big, brown, writhing maggots.
5. NO YOU CANNOT CALL ME SHONA ON MY PUBLIC FACEBOOK WALL!
6. I don't booze. You do. Go ahead: not stopping you and not joining you, but definitely judging you. And your friend who has to throw up after three pegs.
7. 'Our special together time' does not mean me accompanying you shopping, or you joining me for a football match. It means we must find something that we both enjoy equally. Which of course means what we both detest equally, like gardening, or finger painting, or going to a flute recital. Yayyy - not.
8. My friends stink like a shaggy dog. Learn to put up with them. Yours laugh like a horse, and I have always been able to control my urge to offer them some grass. Know this: they go back wayyyyy farther than you, and though it doesn't seem that way, they do actually like you in an abstract, Sheldon-ish way. Academic, as it were.
9. Women can cry. So can men. It does not give anybody any leverage over the other. Don't use them as blackmail, and don't play psychological games: the day it backfires, you will end up with a pitifully black, soot-coated face.
10. HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE DOGS!!!???!
Phew! Feels good to get this out of the system - got any more gems?

who think that the judiciary should be lenient Areeb Majeed

So, there are people out there - in this very country - who think that the judiciary should be lenient on Areeb Majeed and give him a chance to complete his engineering and forgive his mistake.
Not surprising at all, since we are also a nation where sympathizers of Ajmal Kasab, IM, Yasin Malik and similar such scum, portray the latter as victims of mainstream and any criticism is branded as an attack-on and/or phobia-of the minorities.
But pray tell me, why do we need to be soft on Areeb Majeed?
He came back because he did not get to KILL people and was considered inferior compared to his Arab masters, was made to clean toilets and of course provide "Roohani Ehsaas" as-and-when his "pure blooded" Arabian masters demanded.
None of the above reasons say that the change in heart was because he realized killing "infidels" (unbelievers/nonbelievers/apostates who deserve hell) was wrong.
Now, why do you want mercy for such a malevolent terrorist who is not capable of tolerating the existence of fellow humans, unless he has subjugated them, or killed them?

survey about caste and untouchability in India I can't believe it

A thought provoking article that I read and wanted to share with everyone here:
The National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) came out with a large survey about caste and untouchability in India, which shows a few surprising and a few unsurprising things, the boldest assertion being that 27% Indians surveyed admited to practising untouchability.
To the question "Will you let a Scheduled Caste person enter your kitchen and use your utensils?", Braahmans from the Hindi-speaking states were the most likely to say "No" - 52%. What really threw me off were these figures for the same question:
1. OBC (33%) > forward castes (24%)
2. 15% SCs and 22% STs replied "No".
3. Sikhs (23%) and Muslims (18%) too replied "No"
It makes me wonder -
1. Should the survey have asked more probing questions: would the same group of people allow a Braahman to enter their kitchen and touch their utensils?
2. Obviously being a Hindi speaker does not cause casteist attitudes: it is merely correlated with the underlying causal factor. Is it education? Urbanization? The penetration of English and "western culture" (which has no inkling of case purity)?
3. Why on earth are OBCs more caste-oppressive than forward castes I cannot even being to reason that out.
4. SCs/STs discriminate against each other and against themselves _/\_ However, it makes an important point that caste is not a monolithic entity, and OBCs/STs/SCs must themselves be liable to get prosecuted under laws against caste-based discrinimation.
5. Islam and Sikhism are founded on notions of in-group brotherhood. Why are they discriminating on the basis of caste, then? Why do they even recognize caste? To me, it means that caste is not irrevocably associated with Hinduism, and is more a function of profession.
However, let us be happy that three out of four Indians do not practise untouchability in any form today  I hope in a couple of generations, this blot on humanity will entirely disappear

Sachin Tendulkar has urged India to back banned boxer Sarita Dev

Sachin Tendulkar has urged India to back banned boxer Sarita Devi. After meeting sports minister Sarbananda Sonowal in New Delhi on Wednesday, the cricket legend said the country should back Sarita in her quest to overturn a ban from the Amateur International Boxing Association. Sarita was banned for refusing to accept her medal during the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea.
“As a fellow sportsperson, I can relate to the emotional turmoil which Ms. Devi must have undergone leading to the unfortunate outburst. Subsequently, she has regretted and deserves another chance to continue her pursuits. As you may be aware, she has already apologised for her unsportsmanlike behaviour. As a country, we should make every effort to ensure that Ms. Devi is pardoned and allowed to pursue her boxing skills at the highest level. Tendulkar requested Sonowal to consider forming a task force of senior officials from the Indian Olympic Association and the Boxing Federation and defend her case in front of the governing body, AIBA. With limited knowledge on the ongoing process, I would sincerely request to consider forming a task force of senior officials from the Indian Olympic Association, the Indian Boxing Federation backed with strong legal minds under your stewardship. The objective of this task force should be to deter any potential move by the Governing body to cause irreversible harm to Ms. Devi’s career by placing compelling arguments in her defence. This is critical as Ms. Devi belongs to a set of passionate sportspersons who have taken immense pride in representing the country and deserve all the support and backing from various stakeholders including Government of India,” he wrote.

Australia Test batsman Phil Hughes, 25, has died in hospital,

Phillip Joel Hughes was an Australian Test and One-Day International cricketer who played domestic cricket for South Australia

Australia Test batsman Phil Hughes, 25, has died in hospital, two days after being hit on the head by a delivery during a domestic match in Sydney.

“Phillip Hughes was a young man living out his dreams. For a young life to be cut short playing our national game seems a shocking aberration. His death is a very sad day for cricket and a heartbreaking day for his family. He was loved, admired and respected by his teammates and by legions of cricket fans.’’
- Australian PM, Tony Abbot..
Australia team doctor Peter Brukner said he never regained consciousness.
Hughes, who also played for Hampshire, Middlesex and Worcestershire, was struck by a short-pitched ball from Sean Abbott.
"It's an understatement to say we're completely devastated," said Cricket Australia boss James Sutherland.
"The word tragedy gets used too often in sport, but this freak accident is a real life tragedy."
Australia captain Michael Clarke read out a statement on behalf of the Hughes family at a news conference held at St Vincent's Hospital, where the player was being treated.

A Cricket Australia statement said that Phillip Hughes never regained consciousness following his injury on Tuesday.
"He was not in pain before he passed and was surrounded by his family and close friends. As a cricket community we mourn his loss and extend our deepest sympathies to Phillip's family and friends at this incredibly sad time."
Since making his Test debut against South Africa in Johannesburg in February-March 2009, the left-handed Phillip Hughes played 26 Tests, scoring 1535 runs, studded with three centuries and seven fifties. With a top score of 160 versus South Africa at Durban, Hughes has a modest Test average of 32.65 but what has made him a fringe player is the lack of consistency. Hughes, pushing 26, played his last Test match against England at Lord's in July 2013.

We love you Phil Hughes..you are still not out on 63 in our hearts..you will be missed..RIP Phil Hughes
Sean Abbot..its not your fault..be strong in this difficult time and every cricket fan is with you..

India Defence Review

TMC MP and spokesperson Derek O'Brien alleged that the "NSA Ajit Doval is a RSS sympathiser. I was annoyed - to say the least. I googled and googled more and came across this gem of an article on 'India Defence Review'
This is a long read and intended for the ones who wish to read and know about this Chanakya of modern India.
Ajit Doval is a man of exceptionally high IQ and uncanny abilities. He is doer, a fighter and achiever who has ventured and accomplished missions where few would dare. And it is not just ‘one of’ type of successes in his case. The chain of his incredible success stories runs through some of the most dangerous and unlikely situations. Here is one incident that explains how he stunned us by giving a simple solution to a complex problem fraught with far reaching ramifications. NSG was flown in at night to flush out the terrorists from the Golden Temple Complex at Amritsar in May 1988. There were conflicting reports about the number and identities of terrorists inside the Golden Temple complex. There was no clarity as to what weapons they had and how many innocent civilians were inside the premises. Our initial brief from the local police and state administration left crucial questions unanswered. This irked us. Nevertheless, operational plans were drawn up and by late night, we were readying to storm the complex. Just as the assault was about to go, it was suddenly cancelled. “Tiger for Two, Billa cancelled. Stand down and get back to your cordon positions,” Tiger (the Group Commander) ordered the assault squadron commander. (Billa was the code word to signal ‘launch’ of phase I of the operation). The operation was called off even before it took off because the Force Commander had received a rider from the Home Ministry – “No civilian casualties and damage to buildings will be accepted!”
Back to my position atop Temple View Hotel overlooking the Parikrama, we went into a huddle. All of us were eager to finish the operation as soon as possible and did not relish these restrictions being now imposed upon us from Delhi. Officers were now required to tell their Hit commandos – equipped with high precision shooting lethal weapons and trained to kill – to shoot but not kill! When Ajit Doval arrived there, not everyone knew him. Only a select few of us knew about this super cop’s incredible role in this operation. He gave us a first-hand account of all that was going on inside the Golden Temple Complex – the terrorists, sevadars, civilians, women and children; their falling morale, waning resistance, duels over options to surrender or fight and die and so on. These were valuable inputs. He had been inside the Golden Temple Complex rubbing shoulders with the most dreaded terrorists like Surjit Singh Penta, Karaj Singh Thande, Bhag singh, Chanchal Singh (all self-styled ‘Lt Generals’ of KCF) and Gurjit Singh, AISSF leader. In utter disregard to personal safety, he moved around all over the complex even as bullets were raining from all directions. Much later, we learnt that he had disguised himself as an agent of ISI sent for their aid.
After explaining the situation, the task and the restrictions imposed from top, we sought his views. He heard our predicament attentively. “Now, tell us”, the Force Commander asked him, “How the hell can such an operation be accomplished without collateral damage?”
After listening to our problem silently, Ajit Doval smiled and looked around. His affable countenance, cool glance and naughty smile indicated he had something funny to say – and he did. He offered a solution that appeared too simple to be operationally effective. What would stun everyone later, however, was not the spectacle of battle but the simple, subtle tactics that culminated into a success that was lauded all over the world. Not only did we compel all the terrorists to surrender but also ensured zero collateral damage. There was no casualty or injury to any commando either. Doval became the first IPS officer to be honoured with ‘Kirti Chakra’ (a peacetime equivalent of the second highest military award ‘Mahavir Chakra).
Doval’s idea of befriending and converting terrorists in J&K into counter-terrorists was another unorthodox masterstroke that was initially criticised but proved to be a very effective measure in suppressing the rising tide of militancy there.
Op Black Thunder is but one of a long trail of incredible feats accomplished by Ajit Doval. Idiosyncratically propelled from within, he has frequently endangered himself going beyond the call of duty and jumping into the jaws of Death. So often, he has infiltrated into the core of militant organisations and delivered crippling blows to disintegrate them. His role in disintegrating the Mizo National Front (MNF) Army humbled the ferocious Lal Denga who himself attributed his defeat to Ajit Doval’s shrewd moves. His idea of befriending and converting terrorists in J&K into counter-terrorists was another unorthodox masterstroke that was initially criticised but proved to be a very effective measure in suppressing the rising tide of militancy there. Kuka Parray and his pro-India outfit Ikhwan-ul-Muslemoon were borne of this out of the box strategy launched by Ajit Doval in the terror torn state. Often described as a super spy, he does not reveal all he has been through including the years he spent in Pakistan. The humility and the ethical code he has followed all through will perhaps never allow us to peep deeper into all corners of his secret world.
Thanks to his diplomatic proficiency and deft crisis handling abilities, India has often retrieved many a critical situation from the verge of catastrophe. He was the Chief Negotiatorto rescue the hostages aboard Indian Airlines flight IC 814 that was hijacked to Kandahar in December 1999. His deft negotiating skills resulted in safe return of the aircraft and the hostages from the clutches of hijackers enjoying connivance of Taliban.
In his retired years, Ajit Doval has led a very fulfilling engagement as founder Director of Vivekananda International Foundation, New Delhi where you would find him always surrounded by a galaxy of research scholars, writers, retired bureaucrats, defence officers, diplomats – foreign and Indians alike. Workshops, Seminars, panel discussions, book launches and presentations are the routine activities at this Think Tank. A voracious reader, thinker and analyst himself, Doval is a storehouse of knowledge. His personal library at home would be envied even by academic institutions. To hear him speak on subjects as diverse as national security, international relations, socio-religious matters, trade and commerce, economy, energy, development and so on is always an enriching immersion from where participants emerge adding a new dimension to their knowledge.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a man with vision and dreams for a prosperous, powerful Bharat. He is no run-of-the-mill politician. He has the capacity to visualise a distant lofty future and the will to achieve it. Ajit Doval, the National Security Advisor of India, is likewise no run-of-the-mill officer. He comes packed with abilities to conceptualise strategies and plans that shall realise the Prime Minister’s dreams and national goals. Undoubtedly, India is in safe hands on its way to a glorious future.http://www.indiandefencereview.com/

Jama Masjid is a property of the Delhi Wakf Board
Maulana Syed Ahmed Bukhari (Shahi Imam) is its employee
He cannot appoint his son as Naib Imam
Hence
The anointment ceremony of Jama Masjid Shahi Imam's son as the Naib Imam was "illegal" and has no legal sanctity. There is no provision under the Wakf Act for hereditary appointment of the Imam.
Hum nahi kah rahe, Wakf board khud kah raha hai aur wo bhi High Court ko.
Imam Sahib famously said “What has Modi done for the Muslims of the country?”
Not too sure about that Imam Sahib but you aren’t doing any good to them either. The law will have the final say and of course the last laugh.

NARENDRA Modi did everything an Indian prime minister could possibly do for this GREAT NATION HINDUSTAN

NARENDRA Modi did everything an Indian prime minister could possibly do to turbocharge the Australia-India relationship.
Modi praised Tony Abbott’s leadership and declared that for India, Australia was “no longer on the periphery of our region but at the heart of our thoughts”.
Modi invited Australia to help India reach its goal of prosperity. He invited Australia too to increase its security co-operation with India, especially in maritime security.
He talked of investment, trade, services, above all the shared values of democracy, the heritage of cricket and the common struggle for human freedom. He expressed the maximum possible ambition for the relationship in a speech which was everything his Australian hosts could have hoped for.
There was plenty of humour in a speech of considerable charm. Surely, in subjecting parliamentarians to speeches from three visiting leaders, Modi said, Tony Abbott was “shirt-fronting” his own MPs.
The India relationship is full of potential. It is already substantial. No one should sneeze at $15 billion in annual trade, nor at the giant new Indian investment in Australia’s coal industry, nor at half a million Australians of Indian background, nor at the growing numbers of Indian students at Australian universities.
The upside potential is enormous. India offers Australia its third great Asian growth story. First there was Japan, fuelling our postwar boom, then China, revving up the resources boom. Now hundreds of millions of Indians are set to join the middle class and bring middle class wants and needs with them.
Australian resources exports to India should boom, but the potential for services exports is almost limitless. Abbott and Modi have committed to completing a free-trade agreement between the two countries by the end of next year.
This will really test Andrew Robb. For the complexity and political difficulty of doing a good deal with India will make China look like child’s play.
The challenge for Abbott is to set the relationship on its natural growth trajectory. In time, India should be as important to the Australian economy as Japan and China are.

some truths about JawaharLal Nehru

What bothered me even more was the pernicious influence of the Mountbattens on Nehru,so much so that he was literally eating out of their hands. He was oblivious to Mountbatten's glaring shortcomings. His wife,Edwina, had fallen in love with Nehru, and he with her. When Edwina Mountbatten died in early 1960 in Borneo,Nehru paid her a tribute in Parliament. This was unprecedented.
On his return (from China),Pandit Nehru stopped in Calcutta. The first letter he wrote on his China experience was to Edwina Mountbatten, and shared with her the content of his discussions with the Chinese leaders.Strictly speaking, this was against the oath of secrecy he had taken. At the time,of course,no one knew of this letter, and only came to light later when his selected works, edited by S.Gopal, were published.

“At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom. A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, then an age ends, and when the soul of a nation, long suppressed, finds utterance.”

- Pundit Jawahar Lal Nehru on 15th August, 1947

Well Pundit ji was not just a bad politician, he was also pretty bad at horology. He was right about some countries sleeping at the time India was awakening to life and freedom but most countries at that time were up, awake and kicking.

For example:

It was 3:30PM in Buenos Aires. People must have been busy doing “Ole, ole ole, ole”

It was 3:30PM in Chicago. People must have been busy shopping in the Michigan Avenue

It was 2:30PM in New York. People must have been busy discussing Baseball over a round of hamburgers

It was 01:30AM in Bangkok. Okay! People may have been asleep at that time

It was 2:30AM in Manila. Okay! People must have been asleep at that time

It was 02:30AM in Shanghai. Again, People must have been asleep at that time

04:30AM in Brisbane – Come on, older folks must have woken up by that time

3:30PM in Sao Palo – Kids must have been busy playing soccer in the streets

2:30PM in Montréal – People must have been busy ice skating

7:30PM in Amsterdam – Ha! Far from asleep. People must have been……you know

7:30PM in Lisbon – Same as Amsterdam

Bad bad quote Mr. Nehru. Full of factual and logical disparities.

Happy birthday Jawaharlal Nehru

In about twenty minutes, yet another Nehru birth anniversary will say hello to us. Nehru Ji always dreamed of a progressive India. He was a very progressive bald man who gave some Part of India to China on a golden platter. Chacha Nehru loved roses, kids and (Pseudo) secularism. He also loved Edwina Mountbatten.

He is the person who said in 1962 ''My Heart Goes with the people of North East India'' , when we are defeated by Chinese and left North East to China , Indian army was so imbalanced compared to Chinese that our Assamese Ladies gave there ornaments to buy Arms and Ammunition. Fuck nehru... the culprit of partition too

Uncle Nehru's Birthday will be celebrated with great pomp and show tomorrow on TFI. Don't miss our updates. Happy "Baal Divas" all you fellas

Today we celebrate the birthday of a great personage. He gave himself the Bharat Ratna in 1955.

Five days from now, we will celebrate the birthday of his daughter. She gave herself the Bharat Ratna in 1971.

Aligarh Muslim University has denied the demand by female students

If news reports are to believed, Lt Gen Zameer Uddin Shah, Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University has denied the demand by female students that Maulana Azad Library be made accessible to them.

Further more, the Women's College principal Naima Gulrez, echoed the VC's views stating that entry of female students will cause distraction to male students and lead to indiscipline !

It is to be noted that the library has a seating capacity of 1300 and has just 12 seats reserved for women, but entry to female students is barred since inception.

Let us all observe 2 minutes of 'Secular' silence in memory of super-duper-liberal-secular #KOL activists who wanted to rid our society from the clutches of tyrannical-misogynist-chauvinist-moral-police !

JNU ke haat par, bhai seculars ki bheed... (with due apologies to Tulsidas)

For those who have an interest in science stuff in general and space exploration in particular

For those who have an interest in science stuff in general and space exploration in particular, there is some exciting news - many of you might have watched and enjoyed Hollywood flicks such as Armageddon and DeepImpact among others, and thought if it would ever be possible for either Man or a Man made object to land on a surface of a comet orbiting our Sun in deep space.

Well, the moment has finally arrived as after a journey of 10 years and some 500 million odd kilometers, the Rosetta deep-space probe built and launched by the European Space Agency (ESA) will try and land a robotic probe on the surface of a comet (67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko) and perform various scientific experiments.

The best part about this thrilling event is that you can watch it live here -http://rosetta.esa.int/

Why Brahmins called "Dvija" or "Twice Born" ?

There is a word for Brahmins that is called "Dvija" or "Twice born". It means as a Brahmin he is born the second time after his natural birth, when he is introduced into Sanskara (various karmic rituals starting from Upanayanam that disciplines him and prepares him for his next level of evolvement).

So what is by "nature" (by birth) is not good enough to be a Brahmin, until he is also introduced to a "culture" (Sanskara - purely means refinement, civility and all, not what we generally propagate as "this is Indian culture and all") and develop those through "nurture". Hence nature and nurture together have to blend to something into what we call as culture. This is why it is said,

"janmana jaayate shudrah, karmana / sanskarad dwija uchyate"

(by birth all of us are shudras and by our karma and culture (as defined above in refinement, civility) we become Dwijas). Eventually, at the final evolvement of Brahma jnana one is termed as Brahmana.

If that is so, by birth all of us are the same, or Shudras for that matter, so why do we have to look up or look down on someone simply because of their natural born "caste" or "creed" or "colour" or "race" and follow the uchcha/neecha differences. It is our evolvement through our disciplined behaviour that gives us the next level of class, not because it is our "birthright" to call ourselves "high class" or "high society" or "high caste".

If this simple principle is not understood, there is no point in being the beacon holders of "Indian sanskriti or culture" and do caste bashing or high/low discrimination based on birth and not on merit. Either way - through bashing or through unjustified reservations

Modi appoints Rahul Gandhi as a minister

It's amazing, how the sickular Nehru Dynasty TV shows when each Minister comes to take oath that, "now this is because of BJP eyeing Assembly polls", "this because of Dalit vote bank", "this reward for Hindutva politics", "this is for minority votebank", "this because he was the one who said those who oppose Modi can go to Pak", "this because, eyeing more seats in Bengal", etc.
Looks like if Modi appoints Rahul Gandhi as a minister, they will say "this is to get Congress vote bank"

Living in Pakistan: What does it feel like to be a Pakistani Hindu?

Most people here have not met Pakistani Hindus but I have met Pakistani Hindus in person and interacted with them.

They told stories that are not only horrendous but surpass every form of Human brutality and indecency.

A few of us might have read a few hundred Pakistani Hindus coming for the Kumbh Mela and not going back. A senior citizen named Shri Nahar Singh living in Bijwasan village in Delhi gave them shelter in his building. He was earning thousands from the rent but sacrificed it all as he considered them as his sons and daughters.

I met them last December and interacted with them about their conditions and the below is what they told me.

There was a man named Hanuman Das who said:

"We do not send our children to school as they are forcefully taught Islam, beaten up and discriminated. We cannot send our women folk outside as they tease them and we cannot protest because if we do the next step will be rape. Women are abducted on a regular basis and found days later just to be found that they have been converted to Islam(Rinkle Kumari case is a very infamous case there). If we go to the Police station they say that you are Kaafir Hindus(Infidel Hindus) and chase us away. Our homes are not safe and even a minor fight will lead to local Muslims occupying our homes illegally. We do not get jobs and have to do Labour work only. Temples are burnt, broken and idols smashed.

We have a large home in Pakistan but I sold it only for two lakhs but the actual price is 1 crore. Muslims have taken all our land which was ours and we have to work as labourers on the land we once owned(He belonged to a Zameendar Family before the Partition).

We can't cremate our dead as we are not allowed to and we have to bury them."

A man had to leave behind his old Father and Mother in Pakistan as they could not come to India. He said I don't know whether they are dead or alive.

One incidence that he told shocked me to the core.

He said one of his acquaintances daughter, who was a Hindu, was kidnapped by people who entered the house and took her away in broad daylight. I could not ask did the Police helped or not.

Reason of the Kidnapping which he told me?

"Because Virat Kohli had hit a Century against Pakistan."

I was left thinking that what would be my plight if this happens to someone close to me or in my own home. Imagine the plight of a father or a brother who knows his sister or daughter is at the present moment being getting raped or her religious conversion is taking place.

All of this because you are not a Muslim.

You are worse of than cattles if you are a Hindu in Pakistan. Goats are treated better the reason is that you do not belong to Islam.

We distributed Blankets to them just to show solidarity and to tell them they are welcomed and can live in "Peace" here. Sometimes even a welcome gesture does tremendous amount of support.

They are now living in Delhi and doing small jobs to earn a livelihood. The best thing about them was they said  "That we will earn our own livelihood and don't need any alms" but I knew that it is their helplessness that was speaking at that time. I had many feelings in mind of sadness, anger, helplessness at the same time before we left.

I really salute Shri Nahar Singh Ji who gave them shelter at his own expense. He said he did it not only for Humanity but because they were his"Hindu Brothers and Sisters".

At the end they simply said "We will die but not go back......Please let us stay here".
